Worldwide Logistics Group, a global integrated logistics provider, proudly announces the opening of a new branch in Bogota, Colombia. This is the company’s initial branch in South America with plans of future growth in this region.
The expansion into South America is part of a long-term plan to increase the company’s global footprint and offer customer support as they lean into nearshoring and diversifying their supply chains.
With 42 offices in 23 countries, Worldwide Logistics Group brings multiple perspectives and deep experience in one firm. The move into South America significantly bolsters their global reach and the opening of the Colombia branch specifically addresses current client needs.
“Our goals in this region are based on four fundamental pillars: service, communication, customer experience and competitive price offerings,” said Carlos Bocanegra, Managing Director in Colombia. “Daily focus on these pillars will help us achieve our main goal which is to support our clientele globally as sourcing continues to branch out from traditional locations.”
Bocanegra, a native of Bogota, Colombia, brings more than 20 years of experience in the international transportation arena. His background includes both ocean carrier service and freight forwarding. This perspective, in addition to his local regional knowledge, will be key assets for the company as they help their clients manage global supply chains.
The Colombia office offers the same wide scope of logistics services that each Worldwide Logistics Group office offers with a particular focus on air and ocean imports into Colombia. Their target markets include technology, automotive, industrial and customer retail.
“The Worldwide Logistics Group team has extensive experience in these markets in other areas of the world. This will give the Colombia team a competitive advantage when targeting these sectors. We will have the people and resources needed to assist our customers,” said Bocanegra.
Another goal of this office is to provide an in-house point person solely dedicated to one customer if the size warrants this extra attention.
“A dedicated point person coupled with Worldview, the company’s online track and trace visibility dashboard, and 48-hour customs cargo release capabilities, we can provide the excellence in service that Worldwide Logistics Group stands for,” explained Juan Arteaga, Managing Director of Latin America.
Worldwide Logistics Group is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and remains focused on continued growth to serve more than 15,000 customers across 100 countries in five continents.
“We have built comprehensive and intelligent logistics solutions throughout the world, always driven by prioritizing the customer experience,” said, Tom Peacock, President of Worldwide Logistics Group. “We are big enough to compete with any of the largest logistics service providers, but we add an additional value by setting up local teams armed with specific regional market knowledge and expertise. This model ensures that our clients receive excellent customer service, access to a deep bench of industry experts and transparent communication.”
