Worldwide Logistics Group, a trusted leader in logistics, is pleased to announce the appointment of Juan Arteaga as Managing Director of the Latin America region.
Mr. Arteaga will be based in Miami, with a strong focus on developing Worldwide Logistics’ LATAM business. He brings more than 20 years of logistics experience to the team, having held management positions with EGL and Crane Worldwide Logistics.
“Juan brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this important role as we focus on growth in the LATAM sector,” said Joe Monaghan, President and CEO of Worldwide Logistics Group. “His appointment reflects the ambition of our team to grow our position in this region and to provide excellent customer service across all our supply chain channels.”
Juan’s first order of business will be to establish a strong base of operation in Miami including an office and warehouse facility. Worldwide Logistics Group is already in lease negotiation on an 80,000 square foot warehouse which will be available in early March. Worldwide Logistics expects to do export consolidations to all Latin America countries through the Miami warehouse in addition to our traditional service including pick and pack, Ecommerce fulfillment, reverse logistics, reworks, projects and more.
Tom Peacock, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Logistics commented, “Through Juan’s contacts and connections with LATAM agents, carriers and other providers, we will be in a much stronger position with regard to Northbound air and ocean cargo. Additionally, we are in a prime position to offer service between LATAM/EUR, LATAM/ASIA PAC and LATAM/INDOPAK.”
Since graduating from SEK University in Ecuador, Mr. Arteaga has spent time working in Miami as well as abroad in Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Chile. Outside of work, he is a motorcycle enthusiast having raced dirt bikes competitively for 15 years. These days he enjoys playing tennis and mountain biking. He resides in greater Miami with his wife Eva, son Agustin and daughter Antonia.
