This morning COVID-19 shut down two terminals at the Port of Houston after a worker tested positive for the disease.
Bayport and Barbours terminals are closed while an investigation is conducted. Port officials said the employee worked at both terminals.
According to KHOU11 TV in Houston, officials have no reason to believe anyone else at the port has been infected. Port officials haven’t announced how the employee was infected.
All other facilities at the Port of Houston will remain open including the general cargo terminals.
The closures could have an impact on trade, commerce and business in the Houston area.
We will continue to monitor the situation. Please contact your Worldwide Logistics Group representative with any questions you may have.
