Track Washout:
CN has reported that the track that had washed out earlier in the week from river flooding is now repaired and service has resumed back to normal. The washout had impacted traffic between Jackson, MS and Mobile, AL.
Derailment:
CN has also reported that service has now resumed near the town of Emo, Ontario where a derailment occurred earlier this week. They anticipate delays through the region as they continue to recover. The derailment was on the mainline approximately 20 kilmeters west of Fort Frances between Winnipeg, MB and Ranier, MN as well as Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, ON.
Blockades
CN is still affected by blockades on their system due to protests against a natural gas pipeline. In most recent news, the court has issued an injunction for the illegal blockade in Saint Lambert, QC, east of Montreal, QC. Protesters have been served and CN continues to work with local enforcement agencies to enforce the orders.
The illegal blockade in Tyendinaga, ON, east of Belleville, ON, is ongoing and now into its 14th day.
In the East, CN has adjusted operations but have been forced to only run limited service in the impacted areas until the illegal blockades end.
With the end to the blockade west of Edmonton, CN continues to recover in the Western Canada area and reports that service levels are improving daily.
