Latest U.K. House of Lords Vote Means Brexit On Track

Last week the U.K. House of Lords approved Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s EU Withdrawal Agreement Bill unamended. It now waits the Queen’s signature before becoming law and paving the way for the country to exit the EU.

This gives Johnson more time to draw up a new trade agreement with the EU and avoid costly economic disruption and trade barriers. Despite the bill passage, the region still faces uncertainty and expectations of key port slowdowns concern many industries trading throughout Europe. Food, healthcare and manufacturing sectors worry that their inventories and resources will dwindle too low while they try to ride the storm.
