Worldwide Logistics Group opened another US warehouse and office branch this week in the Miami, Florida area. This marks the seventh warehouse in the US and the 11th warehouse globally for the company.
The 84,000-square-foot facility is in Medley, Florida, conveniently located minutes from Palmetto Expressway and Florida’s Turnpike, providing exceptional access to the Miami International Airport, Port of Miami and Port Everglades.
Miami was selected as a prime location for growth due to the economic importance of international trade in South Florida.
According to OEC, a data analytics company which tracks international trade data, Miami exported $5.52 billion and imported $4.95 billion in January this year. That’s an increase of 18.4% in exports and 32.6% in imports from a year ago in January, 2021. Major export destinations were to Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Dominican Republic and United Kingdom. Imports were mostly from China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Italy and Chile.
Worldwide Logistics expects to do export consolidations to all Latin America countries through the Miami warehouse. In addition to traditional warehouse and fulfillment services including pick and pack, Ecommerce fulfillment, reverse logistics and reworks, the Miami team will also provide air and ocean forwarding as well as intermodal transport services.
